Is being visibly stressed at work a sign of commitment?

My colleague and I were chatting casually and I said that whenever she panicked and got overwhelmed before — and felt sure everyone would blame her for some upcoming mistake or something — it has always turned out well. She has even been acclaimed recently for how she handled a tough situation, which she was sure she would get yelled at for or given bad remarks. She is good at her job and widely seen that way. When I told her that her stress might be too much, she disagreed. She said it was a way to show you care about the work you are doing — she wouldn’t trust someone who is too laid back. I replied that I would think twice about hiring anyone who couldn’t handle stress, but she kept denying my claims and saying stress in many ways is good. What are your thoughts about this?
